Driving in Belgium in 2027? Here's what you need to know.

Everything about prices, who needs one, and how to buy.

From 1 May 2027, every car and van up to 3,500 kg needs a valid road vignette to use Belgium's motorways, whether you live here or are just passing through. Here is what it costs and how it works.

Who needs one

Every vehicle up to 3,500 kg

The vignette applies to every car and van up to 3,500 kg on Belgium's motorways and main roads, across both Flanders and Wallonia. It applies equally to Belgian residents and to foreign drivers passing through or visiting.

Trucks and vehicles over 3,500 kg are not covered. They keep paying under the existing kilometre charge system.
